Laser Gum Contouring

Everyone’s gumlines are different. Some are high, some are low, some are in between. Some may even be uneven.

If you feel self-conscious about your gumline, there are ways to change it. At Dentince Dental Clinic we use soft tissue laser to reshape the gum line. Gum contouring, also known as  gingivoplasty, is one of the options that can help reshape your gumline.

What is Gum Contouring?

Healthy, well-proportioned gums act as a frame for beautiful teeth. Gums hold your teeth in place and protect the root of the tooth from damage and bacteria. However, excess gum tissue can hide otherwise beautiful teeth, creating an overly “gummy” smile that can make some people self-conscious. The traditional method of correcting excess gum tissue is by using a scalpel which can be painful and require a long recovery time. With laser cosmetic gum surgery, we can create a more proportional appearance to the teeth and gums by eliminating excess gum tissue that can make the smile look in well proportions.

A Short Effective Procedure

At Dentince dental clinic  our dentists use lasers in a variety of soft tissue procedures including to remove overgrown or decayed tissue and to reshape the gums. Soft tissue lasers allow our dentists to perform these procedures with less pain and fewer medical interventions.

Laser gum-contouring involves the use of a specialized precision medical laser to take of excess gum tissue covering the front of patient’s teeth. This Laser technology allows precise shaping and removal of gum tissue and ensures a faster recovery time than scalpel treatment. An additional benefit of the laser technology is reduced risk of infection. Laser gum contouring is a relatively simple procedure which only takes one office visit to complete.

At Dentince we  provide the perfect result with no pain and minimal healing time.

The procedure is so gentle that anesthetic is not always required. The recovery process is almost immediate with minimal post-op discomfort.

What are the risks of gum contouring?

Gum contouring is completely safe and does not cause any additional risks to your oral health. In fact,  eating habits, speech,  brushing, flossing, and ordinary dental care are not affected by the procedure. The process simply exposes more of the patient’s tooth for a more attractive smile. Almost all patients who receive this procedure are satisfied with teeth that appear bigger, brighter, and more aesthetically pleasing.
